Lajosi Custom Putters

Kari Lajosi lives in Melbourne, Australia. He's a toolmaker by trade and works for his family business – LCM Eng – Precision Tool & Die Makers.

As a keen golfer, He has always had an interest in putters and in 2000 began to make his own. The first was a pretty basic aluminum mallet with a hand bent neck, an old 5 iron shaft and a rubber grip, and was the spark that started his passion for putters.

Seeking an opportunity to precision mill my putters, in 2001 he purchased a CNC milling machine. It wasn’t long before he was working on new putter designs, and we made about 5 CNC heads before his work and personal life became very hectic with the birth of my son and daughter.

In 2007 he decided to try and hand mill his own putters. He really enjoyed the whole process of milling, grinding, buffing. Watching the head take shape with each milling pass elevated his passion for making putters. At the end of 2007 he increased his skill set to include running the CNC mill and 3D cad modeling.

In 2008 he started to CNC mill his own models and designs, many of them inspired by the great putter-makers. Learning the fine art of CNC milling involved a lot of trial and error, but with each new putter he would learn something new and improved his milling techniques.

In the last 12 months he has been making a number of custom-designed putters for golfers around the world. The feedback he has received from putter enthusiasts has been extremely positive and a great fuel for his enthusiasm for the craft.

He prides himself on the fact that he personally can complete each step of the putter making process. He handles everything from the 3D modeling of the design and writing the milling programs, to setting the machine and then stamping, buffing/polishing, plating, paint fill, shafting & gripping each putter.

He is also very keen to experiment with different designs, milling styles, head types, different metals, necks, stamping and finishes.

His aim is to make putters which inspire confidence in their user through their looks and feel.
His quest to make the perfect putter – is a journey which he greatly looks forward to.

We are proud and honored to be able to offer these beautiful pieces of art by Kari Lajosi.
